The OH Medical Society is a society for all Old Harrovians who have chosen to pursue a career in medicine and associated fields. This society was founded in 1999 by Dr Ben Creagh-Brown, and has the full support and assistance of Harrow School and the Harrow Association. Due to the arrival of Poppy and Charles and an ever increasing workload Ben has handed the reins over to Dr John Stoneham (The Park 19582), the current Chairman. Oscar Duke (Newlands 19993) is the OHMS secretary.
Undergraduate members currently attend Medical Schools all over the UK including Bristol, Edinburgh, Cambridge, Nottingham, Southampton, Leeds, Guy's King's and St Thomas', Imperial College/Charing Cross/St. Mary's, St Bartholomew's/Queen Mary and Westfield, St. George's, UCL/Royal Free. We have representatives at about a third of all UK Medical Schools.
Postgraduate members come from a wide range of specialities and work throughout the world, including Australia, America, Canada, Switzerland, South Africa and Kenya. All levels of experience from House Officer to Professor are represented.
We are actively looking for new members. The only criteria for joining are:
- You attended Harrow School
- You have a career in, or are training in, medicine/dentistry/osteopathy/veterinary science or other related discipline. This includes non-clinical medical researchers.
Everyone known by the Harrow Association who fulfils these criteria has been written to but it is possible that you may have been missed out, for whatever reason - please accept our apologies and if you are interested, get in touch by contacting the Chairman, John Stoneham, on firstname.lastname@example.org or the secretary, Oscar Duke, on email@example.com or the Harrow Association direct.
